JACO- a juice and taco bar.
Can we just take a minute and talk about food?! First of all, I love all types of food and would be content with any meal you could possibly put in front of me. Mexican food? Sure. Chinese food? Of course! American food? Yum. Italian food? Yes please! The list goes on and on. However, after living in Texas for the majority of my life, the typical barbecues get tiring when it is 100 degrees outside. Don't get me wrong- I love meat and all things barbecue, but with this weather I can't help but crave refreshing food that doesn't tire me out after a couple bites.
Pineapples, watermelon, mango, and strawberries are just some of the fruits that I would consider refreshing, yet still very filling! A fruit smoothie on a hot day by the pool is just the relaxation I find myself daydreaming about often. With that being said, I couldn't help but stop and admire the way this restaurant (pictured below) is going about doing their business.
Warm, savory foods mixed with refreshing, cool juices?! Count me in!
Meet JACO- a juice and taco bar. Located in Washington, D.C., JACO features a menu that includes pretty much everything you've ever dreamt of: acai bowls, granola, bagels, sandwiches, breakfast burritos, salads, quesadillas, tacos, smoothies and juices. ~You heard it right!~ I am almost confident that a restaurant can't get any better than this. You can come for breakfast and feast on their Maui Wowi Acai Bowl that features a blend of organic acai, banana, pineapple and almond milk, topped with additional banana, pineapple, granola, bee pollen and coconut shavings. (My mouth is watering too, it's okay.) Then for lunch or dinner you can enjoy the Baco Taco which features avocado, sweet onion, tomato, sweet corn, cotija cheese, tomatillo salsa and roasted poblano cream. Once again, it just can not get any better than this restaurant! If you are a food junkie that looks for great food no matter what city you're in- then here is your holy grail spot in D.C., because not only does the food and exterior of JACO look artsy, the food is DELICIOUS. So remember, take this suggestion with a "sip of juice" and let me know how you enjoy it the next time you find yourself visiting Washington, D.C.
