August Favorites.
September is here and you know what that means...we are slowly inching our way to colder weather, closets full of flannels, camping (s'mores and bonfires yay), and a personal favorite of mine- LAYERING! As much as I am looking forward to the upcoming months, I've got to give August credit for being one of the best months I've experienced this year. I am so happy to share with you all one accessory and one mindset I've cherished and loved throughout August!
☆ Star Choker: I am all about the star trend that has arisen this past year. Stars on booties, earrings, sunglasses and now necklaces have taken fashion by storm and I LOVE IT- every item is just so dang cute. When I began to see star chokers emerge as a look, I immediately began my hunt to find an inexpensive, yet good quality piece. That is when I came across the star choker from Frankie Phoenix (an online store I recommend to everyone- it is so trendy)! For literally $6, you can snag yourself a choker that will catch everyone's eyes. I have loved on my choker so much throughout the month of August. Whether I was wearing a t-shirt and nikes, or a more put together outfit, the choker somehow still worked with either look! It is a holy grail accessory of mine that I just never want to take off. I love it so much and I bet you will too!
☆ Quality and Intentional Time with People: If there was one thing August allowed me to realize, it was that much of my days lacked substance. How often do we leave a conversation and think "Wow, that was so genuine, real, and raw"? Probably too little to count, right? The fact that only a percentage of my conversations this past month could be described as quality conversations wasn't something I was proud of. It's so so important to be intentional with your time and words. Life really is too short to not ask people how they are truly doing or how their day has been. It is the quality conversations that build us all up and allow us to grow. We all should strive to be the kind of person others seek to surround themselves around. This past month in Fayetteville has allowed me to cross paths with an abundance of sweet, Jesus-loving souls. I've enjoyed being able to just sit in awe in their presence and listen and learn from them. I am making it a goal of mine from now on to be present, to listen, to understand, and to care. To be intentional is the most important thing ever!!! Mean what you say and share what you feel because trust me, people will see and feel the light of your radiating words and emotions. Make every moment count. Today is another beginning, so get out there and make a difference. Open the door for somebody, invite a new person out to get coffee, or send an encouraging message a loved one's way. Everything counts, trust me!
